經過2015年第一場四大賽澳網之後，男子職網ATP、女網WTA排名有不少更動，球王喬柯維奇、球后小威廉絲都舉起澳網金盃，牢牢守護住世界第1大位；男網「四巨頭」喬帥、費德勒、納達爾、莫瑞再次歸位卡住前4。
台灣一哥盧彥勳排名下滑5席至52名，由澳網會外賽一路闖進會內賽首輪的王宇佐為120名；傷癒復出的張凱貞藉由進入澳網女單第2輪，WTA排名從402名跳升到281名，謝淑薇152、詹詠然180，百名內仍無台將。
而剛結束的2015澳網借由兩周期間氣溫不若以往炎熱加上賽事精彩，本屆進場觀眾人次70.3萬創百年賽史新高。
